Sevgili Misafir. Üye olmadan linkleri göremezsin Üye olmak için tıklayınız için ilk adım 1958 yılında atıldı. Bu adımın amacı dışardan okul bitirmek isteyenlere hazırlık kurslarının mektupla
verilmek istenmesidir. İlk önce Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı olarak kurulan Mektupla Öğretim Merkezi ismi 1974 yılında Mektupla Öğretim
Okulu olarak değiştirildi. Son olarak okulun ismi 1992-1993 eğitim öğretim yılında Açık Öğretim Lisesi olarak değiştirildi.
Bu gün Açık Öğretim Lisesi uzaktan eğitim sistemi anlayışında sınıf geçme sistemi yerine ders geçme sistemini uygulayan okul türlerinden birisidir.
Diğer lise türlerinden tek farkı yaş şartı ve devam mecburiyetinin olmamasıdır.
